What to wear this weekend

So this week I was challenged to make an ensemble with this Steve Madden Diagonal Alley Coat in Black that is available on ModCloth and up to 7 other items currently being sold on the site. I instantly adored the coat and thought it was a great statement piece and an article of clothing I could use to enhance a fabulous winter outfit. Who says you can’t be chic in cold weather? One of my favorite go-to’s to add to my wardrobe that compliments my personal style is pieces of clothing and accessories that incorporate skulls. I fell in love with a pair of black leggings with skull kneecaps that I stumbled upon on ModCloth that I cannot wait to add to my closet. I felt the perfect pairing to these trendy Skull for One leggings would be a longer tank top that paired well with the leggings but was also simple so as not to overshadow the leggings. I chose the Sunrise and Shine top in Purple that features a longer length in the back than front which gave the basic top an edgier vibe and I thought the ombre coloring in the top was simply stunning. Instead of pairing a sweater or blazer with the look I thought that just adding the coat was the perfect way to round out the outfit because the coat is a beautiful piece of clothing that would look effortlessly chic both indoors or outside. One of my favorite ways to finish any look is to accessorize so I knew in order to complete my ensemble I wanted a necklace, clutch, boots, and shades. I added the Rule of Thirds necklace which is a statement silver necklace to the top and decided that no other jewelry was necessary to make this look fabulous. In terms of shoes I knew immediately that I wanted a boot and I found the perfect pair of boots on ModCloth. The From the Same Cloth Boot in Noir was the perfect mix of faux leather and suede with a small heel taking this pair of boots by Bait Footwear to the next level. The last accessories to complete the look were a clutch and pair of sleek shades. I decided to go fun and fabulous when choosing the clutch because the color combination of the outfit this far was simply black and purple. I found an amazing Betsey Johnson leopard printed clutch, Wild About Style Clutch, that was big enough to store the necessities but small enough to also be a great bag to accompany a night out outfit. Another accessory that I love is a great pair of sunglasses and for this look I wanted a sleek and stylish black shade. The Quite the Looker sunnies that I found on ModCloth were the perfect way to finish my look and make the ensemble stylish and ready to wear out. Check out the ensemble I created below.

One of the hottest accessory trends of the moment has come in the form of not a trendy handbag  or  unique piece of jewelry, but instead in the form of a beautiful hair accessory. That’s right, the  latest  accessory trend is the jeweled headband which has been seen dazzling the heads of both  celebrities  and fashionistas everywhere. The beauty of this fashionable trend is that you can use a  jeweled  headband to either dress up or add some sparkle to your everyday wear or make it the  perfect  pairing to your elegant cocktail dress for a more formal affair. Whichever way you to  decide to  rock this trend you will be sure to shine and hit a fashion high note. Personally, I cannot  wait to try  this trend and am currently seeking out my favorite jeweled headband. Check out some  of my  favorites so far.
