Seasons Change And So Do Styles

Fall is a fabulous season full of crisp air, football games, pumpkin picking, and hot chocolate. But when it comes to the world of fashion, fall just may be the best season of them all. As quickly as the leaves change colors and the air is full of that sweet autumn smell, your wardrobe changes from tanktops, bikinis. and cutoffs to jeans, sweaters, and boots. Despite the fact that I am a summer girl through and through and am already missing hot days spent at the beach; I’m completely on board with the change of season and fashion.

So in honor of fall and a change in our wardrobes, here’s five things I can’t resist rocking this season. Whether these are items you already own and want more of or are completely new for you, always wear your fashionable favorites with confidence. And don’t forget to invest in classic statement pieces because they will be just as fashionable next fall as they are this one, which means you won’t have to break the bank with every season change.

1. Lightweight Outerwear

An army inspired jacket is as chic as it is functional for cooler weather. A style like the one above is thick enough to keep you warm, but still thin enough that you won’t be sweating. A lightweight jacket is also perfect for layering depending on the day, activity, or your own personal style. The other types of outerwear I adore for fall include jean jackets, trench coats, and kimonos.

2. Chunky Knits

Cozy and fuzzy are two of the best adjectives to describe chunky knitwear and this sweater seems to be all that and more. As stylish as it is comfy, you’ll be sure to make a statement in this black knitted number.

3. Ankle Booties

ankle boots

After spending a great deal of your summer in flip flops, sandals, or simply barefoot, it can be hard to get your feet back into closed toed and structured shoes. The ankle bootie is a great transition shoe because even though it’s a boot, it’ll only cover your foot and ankle leaving your calves free. Ankle boots look great with skirts, dresses, and jeans so pair these shoes with almost any outfit. The chunky heel will also give you some added height without the pain of a slimmer stiletto heel so don’t be afraid to wear these booties all day long.

4. Over The Knee Socks

Over the knee socks are a fabulous way to keep your legs warm in a skirt or dress while staying super stylish at the same time. These socks are cute for a casual daytime outfit, but when worn at night with a heeled bootie and flowy skirt you can make the look a bit sexier. Bonus: they’re easier to deal with than tights.

5. Sweater Dresses

Sweater dresses are by far one of my favorite fall/winter clothing choices year after year. A sweater dress like the one above is also an extremely easy and chic outfit. Just throw on the dress, add a chunky statement necklace, and an ankle boot and you’re ready to run out the door.
